Luxury Room close to Manhattan!
|住所||Van Horne Street, 07304 Jersey City, アメリカ合衆国|
Rest of the house you will share with two others. The kitchen is completely new and is fully supplied with dishes and cookware, and has a gas range, stainless steel refrigerator, granite counter top, microwave and dishwasher. Fresh bedding linens and towels are included. The bedroom is fully furnished and can easily fit 2 people. There is also free easy street parking for those with a car.
Location is great. Just 20 minutes by convenient public transportation to Manhattan and just 10 minutes by car. Walking distance to Liberty State Park with beautiful views of Manhattan, there is recreation area, jogging paths, playground, barbecue areas, Science Museum and the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
There is 10-15 minutes walk from historic downtown Jersey City with trendy restaurants, bars, and shops. From there you can take the Path subway to Manhattan (2 stops to the World Trade Center or 4-5 stops to midtown - 34th street).
Très bon moment.
The apartment was lovely, shared the apartment with a polish man, who was up everytime i returned from a day trekking NYC! The apartment is a short walk to a train link which takes you to manhattan...
me and my girlfriend stayed in Nj at Sylwia´s appartment for almost one week. The flat was quite ok for that price but "minutes from manhattan" is maybe not the perfect expression. All in all you need 30 to 45 minutes to get to Manhattan when you take the bus to Grove Station and pathway to WTC or whatever. If you want to go straight to midtown plan with a few more minutes.
When we arrived at the flat it was occupied by a stranger who didn´t open the door. So we had to wait for Sylwia for half an hour. Actually that was not our deal. She said it was a missunderstanding and sorted that problem out.
The flat itself was almost clean but not fairly equipped. It should be possible to have some salt, pepper, sharp knives, a can-opener, a bigger pot and another pan in that flat. Just the basics in a kitchen. Then it would be awesome cause the kitchen is actually quite nice. We liked the livingroom and our bedroom. The flush of the toilette was leaking and running for longer times and not well cleaned. There were hairs and surely not from us.
Downstairs there was a very helpful guy from poland. He helped us out on our first evenung and brought us to a grocery store, a bank and a small restaurant in an old VW Beetle. That was a quite nice experience.
The contact with Sylwia was ok, the first evening was strange though because of the other person in our booked appartment.
The last point is the neighborhood. I can´t recommend to walk on the streets after 10 pm. It´s basically not the best street in a black community. During the day it´s not a problem. Once people, kids threw a can against our taxi and the taxi driver asked us if we are sure to at that place. We did it, it was kind of awkward but also nice. It´s not the typical touristic place to stay. But for our needs it was enough. We would do it again because you can save lots of money when you stay there. :) It was good but not perfect.
Anyway, thank Sylwia.
Gutes Angebot an schönen privaten Zimmern. Schnelle und einfache Buchung. Das Zimmer entsprach genau der Beschreibung, war super schön.
Sylwia super nice clean accommodation was very comfortable 15 minutes from Manhattan by subway
We arrived in Manhattan by coach and it required three different public transports (Metro, PATH and Light rail system) to get to the house. We had let know in advance when we'd arrive but she was out, meaning we had to wait 40 minutes outside with our bags - we tried calling but she didn't answer. When she arrived we were hurriedly shown to our room and within 5 minutes she left; we didn't see her again.
Toilet seat was broken, there was no toilet roll (another guest asked her about this and was told to buy it himself) and there were not enough bowls or cups for the number of people staying.
Most significantly it took at best an hour to get to down-town Manhattan, and cost about 10$ each way. Factor this in when comparing here with a location in, say, Queens, which is within the Metro boundary - for which you can purchase a 7-day pass for about 29$.
The place on the whole was not TOO bad for the money in terms of cleanliness and facility (free WiFi), but things like having to go get your own toilet roll and simply her lack of presence made it not very homely and is not somewhere that can be recommended for someone sight-seeing New York or who otherwise needs to be near it.
Lovely, clean room. Modern apartment and friendly environment. Well-recommend.
The flat is lovely, really clean, and the flatmates were really nice too. However, it is in New Jersey, not New York, and I found it really hard to get to the first time. To save you what it took me a day to find out, however you end up in New York, get the blue subway line (E) to World Trade Centre, then walk down to the PATH train station. Get any train going out of there, and get out at Exchange. Then go up the escalators (you're now in New Jersey), walk up towards the traffic lights and then turn to your left, where you will see the HBLR (light railway). Get on the one going to West Side Avenue, and take it to Liberty State Park. Then walk across the car park (heading the same way as the train), and you're on Communipaw Avenue. Keep walking up here, past the myriad of chapels, and on the left you will come to Sylwia's - the street looks a bit shady, but you should be fine. The flat is the ground floor flat (eg, not up the stairs). Enjoy your trip!
