Last but not least we make our rating for our stay in Deborah's house in July/August 2014. Sorry delay Deborah.
Deborah's guest house near Hollywood/LA/Pasadena is very beautyful. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house and the garden are very quiet and nice. Deborah was a very friendly and sympathetic host. Thank you very much Deborah!
If we ever come back to LA, we will try to stay there again.
Greetings from snowy Switzerland.
My girlfriend, our son (7 months old) and me stayed here for 10 days in October 2014.
Deborah has a very nice and indeed a very cozy garden, house(s) and surroundings. She was very welcoming and we were allowed to use the entire garden - which is huge! She also has four dogs, a couple of cats and some chickens. Very relaxed and safe - and still able to go to other parts of L.A. within reasonable time.
The house/cottage itself has a good size with a large living room, a decent kitchen and a separate bed room and bathroom.
Deborah gave us honey from the bees on the premises and fresh organic eggs - very nice!
Would be more than happy to stay there again!
First off, i would like to recommend this property to everyone and anyone who would like to have a totally relaxing and soothing stay!!
We had the most wonderful experience staying in this property we could not find enough words to describe it. But we will try our best so that we can share our experience and people will be able to know about this "best kept secret".
This is the first time that me and my family tried staying in a property that is not a hotel. So we were quite nervous at the start, because we do not know what to expect. However our nervousness was quickly replaced by happiness and awe as soon as we stepped onto her wonderful property.
The property is a 3 acre (yes! 3 acres) lush greenery with hundreds of different kinds of flowers, fruit trees, vegetable bushes and trees. This is all a product of Deborah's 16 years of hard work and dedication to beautifying her garden.
So you can just imagine the number of different kinds of birds that visit her place....i lost count, however, i was happy to see hummingbirds for the first time, not to mention hawks, eagles, and several other colorful birds that i do not know.
We also had a chance to taste the different fruit and vegetables that was graciously shared to us by Ms Deborah like the peaches, apples, grapes, tomatoes, squash. Not to mention the fresh eggs that she shared to us from her very own chickens.
We also got to know her 4 pet dogs that were all so friendly and lovely.
Although the property is around 30 minutes from the city, it is still a very easy drive with not much traffic. There is also a 7/11 store that is just at the end of the street and there is also a Ralphs store and a Sunland Produce market that sells fresh fruits and vegetables at very cheap and affordable prices.
We had our own kitchen, so we could cook whatever food we liked to eat. There was a bedroom with a queen size bed. and a sofabed in the living room and a patio overlooking the garden. There was cable TV and so much space in the gardens for you to meditate or just enjoy the view. There was more than enough towels, plus there is a washer and dryer in a separate building as well. There was a parking slot provided just outside the property, however there is no phone. (but i had an AT&T mobile phone that was working fine with strong signal)
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this property and we will cherish the memories that we had and more importantly the friendships that we have made.
Thank you Ms Deborah and Mr. Herman!
