I was disappointed with this stay, first of all the rooms are totally different from what they are showing here online; the rooms are so old. And the host are living downstairs and they sometimes come upstairs to get food or something. One time, they come upstairs like 2am saying they are fixing the heater. So if you want privacy I would not recommend you to stay here. You might share the living room, kitchen, and the bathroom with somebody else. The nearest station is kind of far it takes about 10-15ish minutes. And they don't have laundry in the house so you have to go to the laundry, but it also takes you about 5minutes. And it takes about an hour to get to the Times Square area. So it is far away from Manhattan. Lastly, the. hosts asked us to pay extra money, because it was holidays season. If you wanna enjoy the stay in NewYorkCity, I would not recommend this house.
Everything was good, Yvette is really nice and helpful.
I would caution anyone they want to book with Yvette,
for a 4 night I could sleep that night, for alot of reasons:
garbage and old furniture in the entrance, the light on the stairs at night it does not work, it is very dangerous
living room, kitchen bathroom very old and very dirty
I was alone, she gave me a room with a bed loft bed covered with plastic under the sheets, the TV did not work, the dryer does not work, all very room.
the metro is far
I do not council housing to anyone, even if it's free,BE CARFUL
It is a very nice and cosy place! I can recommend it to everyone. Yvette was always very helpful and we spent really nice time there.
Yvette is so cool and kind. This cozy home is affordable to budget travelers. It's close to coin luandry and market. Using subway is pretty far from here but if you use bus it's kind a good place.
It is a good house to visiting new york
The place is nice, and Yvette was a really good host.
We had problem coming to the hotel the first day because we didn't know how to get around in NY by public transportation so we took a yellow cab which took us some time because this place was unfamiliar to the driver but also yellow cab drivers in general according to Yvette. So try to contact Yvette before you travel.
However, when we arrived at the apartment, Yvette greeted us, showed us around and told us everything we needed to know. Very helpful and polite. Great host. Yvette lives downstairs so it was easy to contact her. We were the only guests so we didn't have to share the apartment with anyone else.
The place is also very, very well located. 3 min walk to the bus station and 5-10 min walk to the Metro station. It's very easy to get around in NY by Metro.
There are lots of food stores and other stores nearby the apartment.
One important thing to have in mind that this apartment might not suit if you want to stay inside all day (which you shouldn't if you're on vacation) but it's perfect if you just want a place to stay in to use the bathroom and sleep for a reasonable price.
However, we enjoyed our stay and we would be more than happy to visit again.
A Friendly place to be in New York however, before you arive one 'd better send Yvette an email that your seriously coming on the appointed day because Yvette have had bad experience with no shows, so she might not be home when you arrive because she might think one is not showing up.
Me and 3 of my friends lived at Yvette's house for 4 days. I liked it. The house is clean, quite and nice. The area is very safe! We came back home each day around 2-3am and never had problems. Very close could be found places to eat. Downtown is far but we could easily each day get there by bus and train.
The host even took us from airport, brought home and in the end took us to airport again. It was very nice and for a good price.
It is a good place for very good price, cause if you want to find something downtown it would cost 3 times more.
Thank you Yvette!
Hostess Yvette and her husband are very friendly. Quality in proportion to price. Very little privacy as other the guests of two other rooms had pass through our room. Every visitor has to share the same bathroom. 15 minutes walk to subway entrance Frech Pond Rd.
