Tower Hamlets is the borough east of central London, with very easy access to the city and central London by tube (Central line, District line and the DLR). There are also plenty of buses and night buses running 24/7 from all directions in London.
It forms the core of the East End, home to a lot of exciting history. Tower Hamlets lies east of the medieval walled City of London. Use of the term "East End" in a pejorative sense began in the late 19th century, as the expansion of the population of London led to extreme overcrowding throughout the area and a concentration of poor people and immigrants in the districts that made it up. It was also in these neighborhoods the infamous Jack the Ripper operated in 1888.
Today Tower Hamlets is a diversified borough of London, and the status has increased a lot over the last decade. This is where you find the amazing Brick Lane market, along with many hip bars. 10 minutes’ walk from Brick Lane is Shoreditch, which is one of the most popular clubbing areas at the moment.

I give Marcos a 5 star rating! The Apartment is in the perfect location if you are visiting for a few days in London. We were looking forward to shopping in the Liverpool area, so this was just perfect. It is also just steps away from the Liverpool station which has three tube lines running through it to take you all over the city. Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and great shopping nearby. The room was small and cozy but all we needed for a few nights stay. The bathroom is shared but was cleaned each day and was well kept.We will definitely stay here again.
Absolutely great! The perfect place to spend a few days or a longer period of time. It's 15 minutes walk from London Bridge. There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the area, The flat is really clean and it has all the necessary stuff, including towels and sheets. You have your own fridge in your bedroom, so you can buy some food in one of the near supermarkets (Tesco is just round the corner), so you don't need to eat out everyday if you want to save some money. We'll definetely go back to that place when we are back in London! :)
The location of the apartment was perfect for tourist comming by train, so that turned out to be great. The room was fine and the price o.k. It was also possible to access the lobby 24/7, which was great.
There were two small disadvantages: the shower was dirty and the apartment was pretty smelly, if these issues would not be there it would definitely a 5 star (for this price).
Stanza pulita e in ottima posizione. Ci tornerei subito.
Clean room in great position. if I come back in London I choose this room another time! Recommended!
Room is small (8'x12'), but very clean and suitable for someone traveling. Every room has a window, and the walls are thick enough that you don't hear your neighbors. Safe and close to the Liverpool Station, so tube and major bus routes are accessible without having to transfer to other lines. The room had a bed, night table, closet, dorm refrigerator, small table and chair, so it was a bit crowded and I had to move table and chair. Linens were clean and they furnish two huge towels, but no washcloth, so bring your own. The room also had an electric radiator, which worked very quickly to heat the room. The shower room was separate from the toilet, which is good because it doesn't tie up both when one is in use. The shower also used a point-of-use water heater, so you never ran out of hot water. It also had a small kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, pots, pans and table ware. All in all it was a very good experience as far as inexpensive London hotels go.
The only problems I could spot were that either the keys were not cut accurately or the locks were loose on the inside, because I had to jiggle the keys to make them work and the lady at the reception desk said other guests had the same problem. They did work, though, it just took a little time to learn the right way to jiggle them. Also the carpet on the stairs needs to be replaced because on some steps the tacks had torn loose, which could cause someone to trip and fall while they were carrying luggage up the steps (there is no lift). I was pleased enough so that I rebooked for four days on my return trip, so none of those were deal-breakers for me, even though the stairs were a bit hard on my knees (I'm an old guy in my 60s and I took too much luggage with me, as usual).
If you are looking for a room where to stay in London, I would consider this one. Very comfortable room, there is a kitchen and a toilet that you share, but luckily the time we were there, we heard no noise. Marcos is in the hotel next door, so you ca ntalk to him (works at night). There is good WI FI. Everything works and the neighboourhood is really great. Recommendable.
We had a very nice stay in Marcos' room! He was friendly and the room was tidy. The tube station was also very close. We absolutely recommend!
