I gladly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to enjoy a stay in this genuine NY area. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and was properly cleaned up upon our arrival. The kitchen includes all the devices necessary for preparing simple dishes and there were also some basic food stuffs in the fridge and the pantry. The neighbourhood felt safe and everyone we met was very keen to help us since we often needed to ask for directions. Coretta and her husband are both very nice and they stayed up until 4 am to welcome us and hand over the keys when our flight was 8 hours delayed, which we are very grateful for. Much quality for such cheap price!!
Coretta responded very quickly to our e-mails and we were well received with both juice and water, tea and other necessities. The appartment is clean and spacious but a little worn down (maybe not for New York standards:)
The train is very close and it dosen't take long to get to Manhattan, but since Manhatten is so big, it takes a while to get to central or uptown. I thought it was a little too far from the city center, but you save a lot of money compared to staying in Manhattan and it's fun to experience a very local neighborhood plus the more central parts of Brooklyn are very cool and not to be missed.
evrithing was ok, the owner came to open the door and explain everithing, subway near, cheap, quite saftly place, 20 minuts to manhattan
Location was quite good, short wall to Nostrand Ave Subway, just a street behind the main road of shops with plenty of places to get food/supplies etc. The apartment itself was okay, nicely furnished and bathroom was nice, however the place was a bit old. The front door seemed a little flimsy and even when locked didn't seem like it was that secure, the radiators made this horrible high-pitches whistling noise at random times when it was turned on, woke us up. Coretta was nice enough to leave us some basic cooking ingredients. Overall an okay stay but would probably look elsewhere next time.
Easy to reach, subway is only a 5 minute walk away (Express train 'A' takes you to midtown in 20 minutes, JFK is 60 minutes). Comfortable basement studio in a typical Brooklyn brownstone. You'll find anything you need within walking distance (shops, restaurants, supermarkets). The neighbourhood is safe. Coretta was really helpful. Would stay here again.
The apartment was indeed modern and sleek and we had a wonderful time there. The close proximity to the subway station (A,C train) makes this home away from home to a perfect starting point to explore Brooklyn, Manhattan or Long Island and allows an easy ride to the JFK airport. In the neighborhood are quite a few Delis, Restaurants and Supermarkets and it feels safe, even at night (since we made the most of our trip to New York we often arrived late in the evening or during night times).
Coretta was a great host…not hovering, but always available if needed – a perfect combination for us. The communication worked flawlessly from the booking to the receiving of keys or the storage of our luggage on the departure day. We just want to say “Thanks” again. We had a great time and were very glad that we found that nice little apartment for our trip.
The host cancelled the booking, this review is automated.
We enjoyed our stay. Before we arrived Coretta was more helpful than we arrived. She just gave us key thats it. We expected more concern. She upgraded the apartment. Apartment was comfortable and warm enough. But Norstand Avenue was a bit dangerous for young ladies. Deli grocery was next door and the guy who works there more helpful.
Coretta was very helpful and pleasant giving us lots of info about how to move within the city and locally.
The apartment was lovely and warm and well equipped if needing some updating.
Just as in photos.
The position is great for visiting the city. No problem moving around.
Coretta assured us that the area was safe even though our taxi driver did his best to make us fearful. A predominantly black population of whom all we met and spoke to in the area were always kind and helpful.
Great supermarket close by. Metro 5mins walk with line direct to centre.
Maybe this is not the best time to visit NY as cold and wet or snowy.
Good connection to to JFK airport. No need for taxi.
Thank you Coretta for a lovely stay.
Beautiful family apartment downstairs newly done up. Highly recommend.
We had a great stay in a spacius flat. It was nice that there was juice and water in the fridge wich Coretta the landlord had put in .as we arrived late. The flat is a little more run down than the fotos suggested. And we had a issue, but it was soon taken care of.
A cupple of bedside cabinet in the same height as the bed with a cupple of cosy reading lamps would have been nice,as the lighting, was a bit like sitting in a waitingroom at the hospital.
And we never found out how to work the traditional oven,as there were no instruktion.
Coretta was friendly and helpfull.
The area was very lively, but the street was nice and quiet. And the internet worked perfektly.Close to the metro.5-7 min walk. And if you want to shop cheap clothes there is a Marchalls and Burlington coat faktury at Atlantic avenue center in brooklyn. It is 1/3 of the price compared to Denmark.
We will recommend Corettas place.
