The staff was friendly, but it wasn't what I had imagined. To cold, area is not very beautiful, but for the price it is okay.
Great value for money. The rooms are small but will certainly satisfy your basic needs. The tiny breakfast is good to start going, but there also a small, good, cheap cafeteria downstairs. Although I had a room on the sixth floor, the traffic could be clearly heard all night long.
And one other important point: the neighbourghood there is pretty nasty: prostitutes, drug addicts. In a group, or at least when you know what not to do - all right, but I met two Taiwan girls, who where just terrified to walk after dark. Quite understandably. They missed, however, all bustling Athens night life.
A nice place to stay when you're visiting Athens! Having a clean kitchen allowed us to cook our own meals. There's a fridge and the rooms were clean! Miglen has been an excellent host and gave us a small tour upon arrival (2 am!). A big plus is the closeness of the omonia metrostation and busterminals to go outside the city.
Miglen's house is a very friendly guesthouse. I had a good welcome when i arrived and Miglen was always willing to help me or to give me some informations. I visited Athens by foot from his house. Ok, you're not in a hotel but it's very cheap. You are in a very good place if you're looking for a cheap place. I recommand.
Our room was for the price 15 € per night and person really ok, only the size of bed is for double room to small, for two children, or really skinny persons would be large enough, for two guys is the bed really to small.
Breakfast is included, simple and good.
One notice for people with problems to sleep: really loud area at night.
It was a very good experience in general.
The flat was very clean and Miglen very nice, helpful and friendly.
it was fine overall except two things: 1. radiator in bed room was out of order; so, next day got a fan heater. 2. one micro oven for heating cooked food would be very useful. I believe one micro oven is not that expensive. Hoowever, comppare to our price this can be taken into consideration. But, this simple matters can be improved and that won't be cost effective for the host I believe. Any way, Miglen is a friendly host that is what important.
Miglen was very friendly and helpful, and I was impressed that he even lent me a map and explained the directions of landmarks around the area, and also recommended some places to visit which is something I truly appreciate. Also, he was very flexible, allowing me to change rooms and it was indeed a good stay in Athens.
