Right in the heart of the West End of London, NEAR MARBLE ARCH Station and minutes from SELFRIDGES and short walk to both Hyde Park and Regents Park.
Kensington is only a short journey away and is the home to several major museums such as Natural History museum and Science museum. The famous department stores Harrods, Peter Jones and Harvey Nichols are also located in Kensington.
Hyde Park is a short walk away, where you will find Kensington Gardens. If you walk through the park you will reach Oxford Street, the most famous shopping street in London with shops such as Selfridges and Debenhams. Most attractions of London are within easy reach, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus.
Notting Hill is one of the most attractive areas of London, with many beautiful buildings. Notting Hill is full of trendy café and bars, small shops and galleries. This is also where the famous Portobello Market is located. Notting Hill is also famous for the annual colourful carnival that takes place every August, and for the film ‘Notting Hill’ starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant!
There are plenty of tube stations in the area that will take you wherever you want to go in London. If you want to enjoy the extensive night life London has to offer, there are also plenty of buses and night buses running 24/7 from all directions in London.

This is an affordable hotel in a really sought after part of London. At walking distance of Baker Street, Marble Arch and Oxford Street. The bus stop is practically across the street, subway stations all around at 10 mins walk.
We loved to fully operational kitchenette with micro wave, water cooker, toaster, pans and cutlery. We could smell that some guests used their room for cooking. We chose to simply re-heat McBreakfast (Mac was at walking distance and open from 5 AM) because we didn't want to cook in our bedroom.
A couple of down sides: shared bathroom, no lift and no insulated glazing (noisy and cold). Also the boiler only provided enough hot water to wash your hands once per time (I had to boil water to do the washing up) and I couldn't get the shower on the higher floor to work.
Staff were nice and guests were nice so thumbs up for Amber Hotel!
Beautiful townhouse, with a nice small room, clean and tidy. Kitchen is sufficient. Shared bathroom is clean as well. Friendly and helpful caretakers, haven't seen Penelope though. The other guest were quiet, but the house itself is noisy. The street in front is quite noisy as well.
That was cheap and i get what i wanted : affordable, central -between Hyde and Regent's-. The studio is also next to Baker st.
You hear very well the street sound but that make the eventual noises from neighbors bearable. Tidy given that the furniture is quite cheap and well used...
Overall good experience. People there are nice.
wonderful location proximity to main attraction - friendly and welcoming
lovely room with all amenities
Penelope always unswered my emails on time. They have a recepcionist called Gabi that was very helpfull. The apartment was ok but very noisy in the main street. I requested other inside but there was no other available so finaly we had to pay more for other apartment in the basement with bath that was less noisy and bigger.
The situation of the apartment is excellent.
Everything was Perfect! The room was very clean, bis enough for two persons and two big suitcases. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The shower looks very modern and clean, it was usually free and there were lots of other possibilities to shower if one shower wasn't free.
The staff at the reception was very nice and even allowed us to stay until 1pm for checking out. We could let our suitcases at the reception and picked them up in the very late evening. The only two things to criticize: the beds were a bit old and fragile (but comfy!) and the hostel need maybe a small renovation (bathroom is new!!).
The location is directly in the city center, it's about 15 minutes by bus from Victoria.
All in all we were very happy and would book again this place when we are coming back to London! Thank you for everything :)
The location is great, everything is in walking distance and there are stores, restaurants and supermarkets all around! The room and toilet is all right, it's clean and simple, nothing to criticize. The Kitchen is good and there is a heating thing in the room which works very well! It might just get a little noisy because of the cars but besides that it's the perfect place to stay if you want to make a short trip to London :) thank you for the great time!
Very good location near Covent, British Museum, National Gallery and shops circuite.
Not very good forniture and beds.
Shared bathrooms. Not sure among who, often very badly cleaned. Shower not bad, but with clogged drain, sometime.
