Authentic Corsican Apartment in Hills
|住所||Place de la Mairie, 20231 Venaco, フランス|
The space has a double bedroom as well as a sofa bed in the living room. The fitted kitchen allows guests to cook great meals for themselves. Open the large windows and bring the ocean breeze and natural sounds inside. Bed linen and towels are included.
Corte is a 10-minute drive away, a beautiful hillside town with a historic citadel. The coast and some of Corsica’s lovely beaches are a 45-minute drive away by the town of Aleria.
Located up in the beautiful hills of the island, the apartment is a great jumping-off point for those looking to explore the wonderful landscape. It is somewhat remote, but nevertheless close to 2 restaurants, 3 bars, 2 grocery stores, and a bakery.
Our stay in Venaco was marvellous. We were very comfortable there, serenaded from time to time by the sound of the church bells. There is a river nearby, down the mountain a short way - delightful scenery, that Cecile recommended. Truly beautiful. The Valley of the Restonica and the nearby forests are well worth a visit. Cecile went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay in Venaco a truly memorable experience. Thank you Cecile.

It was very amazing to stay in the mountains in this nice flat. We had a huge terrace to have breakfast on, it is very green and the view is spectacular. In the flat is everything you need and Cecile and her father Gil are very nice and helpful. They are certainly good hosts. The spot is perfect for a quite stay on the island.

Superbe village! Great to go on walks and people are very nice in the village. There is a little store for food shopping, a bakery and some bars and restaurants if needed. The flat is very luminous and has the bare minimum for you. It's spacious and you will enjoy a fantastic view as well as hearing the hourly (every 30 min too) bells. You will need towels, kitchen basics like oil, coffee, etc... And washing powder for laundry. Gilles ( Cecile's dad) was very welcoming and helpful but discreet too. He lives by the flat if needed! I would definitely go back!
The apartment was all in all a nice stay.
Just a minute walk to the river and 5 minutes to the Louvre it is defintely a good spot for a stay in Paris.
Would recommend this apartment for a couple as the bed upstairs is suitable.
Two recommendations: more cooking utensils in the kitchen to cook would be handy, and the 2 lights in the main living area are too low (hit our heads numerous times)
Overall, the apartment was very modern and the studio is a great way to experience Paris.
Many stairs write the past "renters"...but such historic stairs! The house is from the 16th C., says Cécile. Once upstairs the flat is cozy. The location is super--big grocery store, plenty of restaurants, walkable to most tourist attractions or metro connection. But don't skip renting the city bikes locked up all over the city. It is a fantastic way to get around and see the city from a different angle. Too easy AND for the price of one metro ticket--a day's bike rental.
Cécile was very accommodating with our late (22:15) check in & afternoon check-out. Much appreciated. This is not a place though for very tall or large people...we were a family (kids 12&13)...for us it was perfect, but the kids took up the sofa & floor to sleep downstairs. We had plenty of hot water too for 4 showers after our daily adventures. That was important, because it was a coooold weekend.
The apartment was very cozy, clean and lovely. location was perfect for tourists as it's just opposite from the Musee du Louvre and right next to the Musee d'Orsay. Cecile was very lovely host as well even we couldn't meet each other she helped me a lot. I strongly recommend the place.
We went to Paris using Wimdu for the second time with our familie (2 adults, 2 small children and 1 baby) and chose this small appartement, wich is perfectly situated (Louvre, Palais D'Orsay around the corner, the trendy Rue du Bac) in the heart of the city centre of Paris. Besides of the ideal, superb location, a nice Parking around the corner, the appartment was really very good: clean 5/5, tasteful choice of furniture 4/5, shower very good 4/5, climate great 5/5. Only all the stairs made us sigh sometimes, but that was necessary to loose some of all the nice croissants-energy and other great tastefull cookies, baguettes and other sweets from the bakery on the opposite side of the street, where we loved to have these great breakfasts. Highly recommendable to our friends and we probably want to return there again in a future visit to Paris.
PS Cecile was nice and ´coulant´, since we booked a wrong weekend at forehand but she made no big deal rebooking the reservation, which was really nice of her.
well, the apartment has great location and cecile was kind to us.
but the apartment was so cold to my family. maybe we are from the East so we are accustomed to warm house and that's why we felt cold. anyway, my family wore coat when we went to bed.
also the dishes are not clean. we didn't cook anything when we stayed there.
in addition, we had to cover blankets and pillows ourselves. I think it's not guest's work.
anyway, just good location is merit of this apartment.
