Home Suite Home - Basement Apt
|住所||Keizersgracht, 1017DW Amsterdam, オランダ|
We live on the lovely Keizersgracht canal and you will find us on the corner with Utrechtsestraat, just two blocks south of Rembrandtplein. So you'll find plenty of local bars, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops just around the corner.
The #4 Tram stops just outside our front door, but there is no need to buy a Tram pass as we are within walking distance to pretty much everything you are coming to see. We also have some bicycles that we are more than happy to let you use free of charge. Just let us know when you arrive. It's a fun and safe way to explore the city.
Our house is the whole 5 floor canal-side building. It's an old building that's been decorated in an eclectic and quirky style. We have divided up our house into a few single and double rooms, both with and without en-suites and a few larger self contained units we call apartments. All The rooms/apts are off a common stairway and share the same entrance, but the room/apt is your own private space that you do not need to share with anyone.
We have converted our basement into a funky space that is perfect for chilling out in.
The main room has a couple of couches that open into double beds and some pillows and mattresses around the room creating a chill-out sitting area on the floor.
There is a fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare some meals and another bedroom tucked away in the back with a large screen TV.
You also have your own private bathroom with shower and toilet downstairs.
There is a computer in the room for you to use that is connected to the internet and a server full of movies and shows for you to watch.
Free Secure WiFi is also available throughout the building for you to use. Just ask us for the password when you arrive.
We also provide sheets and towels, so you just need to bring the soap :)
We live downstairs, so we are usually around if you need any help and advice or just to hang out and chat with.
*** During New Year's and Queen's Day we have a 4 night minimum stay ***
ハウスルールWe run a laid-back smoke friendly house. You are given access to the front door, so you are welcome to come and go as you please. All we ask is that you keep the noise and music down to a minimum late at night for the sake of our neighbours. Enjoy your stay and if there is anything that we can do for you, feel free to ask.
The apartment was very good for what we wanted. Although once we got there, there wasn't a proper bed, it was a sofa bed which wasn't shown. Projecter for a tv with a good sound system was perfect to come back to after a long day of walking everywhere. Also has a computer, with Internet that links to the projector. The apartment was cosy and warm. A great place to chill out. Perfect location, town centre easy to get to 10 minute walk, coffee shops and supermarkets all reachable within 5 minutes. The guy who showed us in was nice. You have your own space. Not 100% what I was expecting but I enjoyed my stay and the apartment was perfect for what we needed.
You cannot immagine a better Welcome to Amsterdam, Allan is a very kind and openminded man, he will suggest you some nice place to visit in the city and keep you company if need some.
The house is nice and cozy, a part from the cleaning that isn't perfect, but remains in a well served and central area, you can easily reach it with tram from Central Station (n°4 has its stop in front of the building).
We Really really enjoyed our stay! We loved the Celler Apparment,
it s got Style and u feel very comfortable. :)
Allan and his friend (sorry we forgot the name?) were very very friendly to us and if we needed something or if we had a question,
they were always there for us.
Even to help us with the luggage :)
Eveyday Allan told us a few things, we can do today in Amsterdam,
or what s worth to be seen or visited!
We will SURE come back next year for our anniversary !
Allan is a very cool, funny and interesting person,
we felt very comfortable with!
Thanks a lot guys!
See u next year hopefully!

Had a fantastic few days away at allans home sweet home apartment had everything we needed :) when we arrived we were given a wonderful Amsterdam welcome ;) allan was very accommodating and a perfect host will be staying there again when we next visit Amsterdam
The place was lovely, so were the hosts! im coming back the next time i'll go to amsterdam for sure. It was a real pleasure! :)
When we arrived we were met by lazy (nick name) who was a lovely guy and very helpful. He took us downstairs to the apartment and showed us around. At this point we were not overly impressed but we thought it would be ok.
We had a good look around and it become obvious it was NOT like home from home because we noticed it didn't have all the equipment in the kitchen like no toaster, oven so the kitchen was pointless. Sleepy showed us a whole in the ceiling in the toilet which sometimes leaks from the apartment above, not good if your on the toilet at the time. The whole place was dirty and hadn't been cleaned for a long time... There is no tv in the lounge but you do have a projector and screen to watch films etc. There was no cold water in the bathroom so had to brush teeth in the kitchen. All I kept thinking about was fire because there was NO smoke alarms in the apartment and only one window in the lounge but would be difficult to get out of. All in all we wouldn't stay there again!
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect, the hosts were excellent and the accomodation was really easy to find and suited our needs perfectly. I would definitely reccommend this property to anyone looking to spend some time exploring Amsterdam.
We have a very beautiful week in a very beautiful place...
Everything was ok and the house is very cozy and the host is hospitable!!
i reccomend it!!!1
I really wanna recommend this apartment to everybody who likes to hang out, doesn't like the rush of sightseeings, museums and other tourist-things, because If you can goof off in a apartment like this, you just gonna cherish the rooms and chill down.
The basement apartment didn't dash our expectations. The projector worked ass well as promised (and the large choice of movies on the computer: wooow), the flat was clean, the blankets, the dishes in the kitchen, the shower: everything was alright. When we arrived we got an ashtray to smoke inside the room. That was comfortable because it was less than 3 degrees outside!
Not only the apartment but rather the location was well! You can find coffeshops, clubs, bars and good restaurants just around the corner! Even the walkway to the central shopping area was about 5 minutes only!
Unfortunately there were some trifles somebody could be bothered about. Two dogs were permanently in the entrance area. The dogs were really lovely, but the dog food, scattered all over the corridor, was a real obstacle. Also it's good to know, that you can't flush the toilet paper into the toilet. You need to litter it into a trash can, what's embarrassing to some people after doing one's business.
All in all all the negative things we could ignore easily and we really had a nice stay in Allan's basement!
