Right in the heart of the West End of London, NEAR MARBLE ARCH Station and minutes from SELFRIDGES and short walk to both Hyde Park and Regents Park.
Kensington is only a short journey away and is the home to several major museums such as Natural History museum and Science museum. The famous department stores Harrods, Peter Jones and Harvey Nichols are also located in Kensington.
Hyde Park is a short walk away, where you will find Kensington Gardens. If you walk through the park you will reach Oxford Street, the most famous shopping street in London with shops such as Selfridges and Debenhams. Most attractions of London are within easy reach, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus.
Notting Hill is one of the most attractive areas of London, with many beautiful buildings. Notting Hill is full of trendy café and bars, small shops and galleries. This is also where the famous Portobello Market is located. Notting Hill is also famous for the annual colourful carnival that takes place every August, and for the film ‘Notting Hill’ starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant!
There are plenty of tube stations in the area that will take you wherever you want to go in London. If you want to enjoy the extensive night life London has to offer, there are also plenty of buses and night buses running 24/7 from all directions in London.

This is an affordable hotel in a really sought after part of London. At walking distance of Baker Street, Marble Arch and Oxford Street. The bus stop is practically across the street, subway stations all around at 10 mins walk.
We loved to fully operational kitchenette with micro wave, water cooker, toaster, pans and cutlery. We could smell that some guests used their room for cooking. We chose to simply re-heat McBreakfast (Mac was at walking distance and open from 5 AM) because we didn't want to cook in our bedroom.
A couple of down sides: shared bathroom, no lift and no insulated glazing (noisy and cold). Also the boiler only provided enough hot water to wash your hands once per time (I had to boil water to do the washing up) and I couldn't get the shower on the higher floor to work.
Staff were nice and guests were nice so thumbs up for Amber Hotel!
Great, cheap place to stay in central London. Close to Marble Arch and Baker Street tube, Hyde Park and Oxford st. shopping. Nice hosts. Would definitely stay again.
easy place to find about 10-12 minutes walk from metro / national express buses Baker Street.Camera clean and warm.
clean bathroom as well as a shower.i can only give positive opinion...the staff at reception are verykind
Everything was ok. Thanks!
The apartment we got was located at the ground floor, with a window facing Gloucester Place. We had a functioning kitchen, a shared bathroom, a desk with a chair, a cabinet and two single beds. I originally booked the room to have a double bed, so I went to the reception and talked with them. They assured me it would not be a problem and they could easiely move the two single beds together, which they almost immediatly did. The bed was a little to soft for my taste but really comfy, as was the room. The bathroom was clean and we never had to wait to use it. The shower had nice hot water and was spacious enough. The fridge was very spacious and we would have easiely fitted the food for a whole week in it. There was all the utensils if we wanted to eat and drink, but I am not sure anymore if we would have been able to cook on a stove. A microwave and hot water was always provided.
Now to the little downsides:
The flat was quite hard to find, even with a map. Because its not really down Glouster Place, but a sidestreet which also counts as Glouster Place. So check the map carefully.
Also the noise from the street was really bad. Since the windows wouldn't close properly and also were quite old the noise from the street was clearly hearable. We chose to sleep with the windows closed, even though it was really hot and stuffy in the room. Be aware that Glouster Place is the street that goes in the opposite direction of Baker Street, so it is its equivalent in noise and traffic. It really didn't do our sleep any good, and me and my partner woke several times every night. Around 2 a.m. it got a little more quiet and it started to get noisy again around 5.30 a.m. We know since we went to arestful sleep when it got more quiet and woke up when it got louder.
So I would really advise you to bring earplus, even though the people who rent that place didn't recommend earplugs when I asked them beforehand.
Over all it was a nice stay with really helpful people. If you don't mind the noise, opposing to me ( I am from the quiet countryside by the way and simply not used to it), it is a very affordable and very cental place.
1st time booking with Wimdu, the incentive was a £20 voucher compared to the prices with Airbnb, which I did not receive.!!!
From booking on line to checking in everything went smoothly, with quick response. I was upgraded to a double ensuite on arrival, this was appreciated.
The accommodation was great for the location and price. The ensuite worked well and was modern and clean as was the well fitted kitchen.
Some very careless guest had placed a very hot pan straight from the stove on to the laminated floor & also the worktop and caused damage. The roadside basement bedroom was dated, but no problem it was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
Being on a busy road it was noisy, but that was to be expected there was a fan in the room, so no need to open the window to cool down on a hot summer night. The staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble. I would stay again if in the area.
The Room was clean (cleaning every 2 days)
location is great
Toilet and Shower clean
Beautiful townhouse, with a nice small room, clean and tidy. Kitchen is sufficient. Shared bathroom is clean as well. Friendly and helpful caretakers, haven't seen Penelope though. The other guest were quiet, but the house itself is noisy. The street in front is quite noisy as well.
That was cheap and i get what i wanted : affordable, central -between Hyde and Regent's-. The studio is also next to Baker st.
You hear very well the street sound but that make the eventual noises from neighbors bearable. Tidy given that the furniture is quite cheap and well used...
Overall good experience. People there are nice.
The apartment was clean and quite comfortable so that it reflects the money we payed. The aerea is perfect if you want to visit all the main sightseeing in London, because it is close to Baker Street tube station. The room had also a furnished kitchen and a TV.
