It is a very peaceful place with no noise as it do not face the street. It is comfortable and welcoming .
New York City is larger than life: in population, in square feet (think of the five boroughs), in culture and food, in arts and entertainment. Visitors to New York have the world at their fingertips, from Uptown to Downtown and beyond. There’s so much to do and see, no two visits will ever be quite the same.
Whether it’s your first visit to Gotham or your fifteenth, these top things to do in New York capture the energy, spirit and style of the city. You can not miss Central Park, that covers 843 acres (341 hectares) and is located in the heart of Manhattan. Offering a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city streets that surround it on all sides, the park is a refreshing year-round sanctuary.
Visitors can walk, run, ride bicycles, play chess and checkers, ice skate, and even fish. Designated quiet zones accommodate those seeking tranquility, while the 21 playgrounds are a boon for families with children who need to move.
If you need advise on how to organize your visit we can always help you knowing your interests .Just let us know.
No smoking in the bedroom, I suggest you can open the kitchen window and smoke there!
No shoes in the house, I ask kindly to take shoes off when you come in. Please bring your sleepers or flip flops if you need.
You can come in and out when ever you want.
Your room has linens and towels, You just have to bring your personal toiletry.
This was my first experience with Wimdu and staying at Sophia´s was the best experience I could have ever had. The apartment is such that you can see in the photographs, Sophia is a very warm and welcoming person, makes you feel at home all the time, she helps you when you need it and always respects your privacy. The apartment is in a quiet, peppy American-style area but when you're inside you can relax and sleep at night without any noise at all. The subway stop is just 8 minutes walking and connects you to downtown Manhattan in about 15 or 20 min. Thanks for everything Sophia and be sure our next stay in new york will be at your home.
Sophia is the best host ever! She really takes care of her guests. The room is spacious, clean and you can use the kitchen if you want. Location is ideal: nice neighbourhood and close to the Subway that takes you downtown Manhattan in no time! Really had a nice time here...
It was our first time in NY city and the best choice we could make was to stay in a privat apartment. A great opportunity to feel the 'heart beat' of the city.
Especially our host was the best choice. Even when we didn't know her before.
Sophia is such a friendly host. As we arrived our room was prepared like a sweet boutique hotel room. She also had some snacks for us.
We had some very nice evening talks, she helped us with informations about NY and she even gave us her subway ticket card.
We loved it and it was hard to say 'goodbye'. We will contact Sophia if we ever travel to NY again.
I contacted Sophia last last minute..just a day before my arrival and she responded and accepted my reservation promptly. When my mother and I arrived, we received a very warm welcome- exactly what I needed after being under pressure to find a place to stay :) ...The room and the apartment was very clean, homey and arranged with attention to detail. Sophia even stocked up our fridge compartment with a lot of food and drinks. I can't stress enough what a lovely woman she is and how comfortable and well looked after we felt. When we were out and about exploring NYC, she would send me messages to ask if everything was OK and whether we needed anything. A caring and positive spirit :) ...The location was also very good, short walking distance to Subway A, station 145 St. (direct connection to airport) and Subway train 3, station 148 St going straight to Time Square, World Trade Center etc. I totally recommend staying at Sophie's place and would love to come back. Thanks for making everything so easy for us Sophie- we truly felt at home :)
Disadvantage is the owner requires vegan cooking + sitting room and kitchen are shared. But that was mentioned and we knew that.
We were lucky the owner was away so we had the whole apartment for ourselves. It's spacious and fitted with everything you need.
Less positive: it's a very warm apartment without balcony or terrace. The barely working airco in the bedroom, the TV with very limited networks (only NYC) on it.
But Sophia is very helpful and connection to Manhattan is ok (30 min metro).
Staying at Sophia's place has been a great experience for us. Harlem is lovely and full of life, subways were very close. She has always been very helpful and kind with us! I suggest to come here and live a true New York everyday life experience. Thank you Sophia one more time for your hospitality!
It was our first trip to New York. We stayed at Sophia's apartament. This is a modern place, clean and bright. We loved it! Safe area with beautiful park near river. The metro station is just opposite the building.
The Yellow cab transfer from JFK Airport to apartament cost about 60-68$+tip.
Uber taxi - about 55$
What I recommend to do&see? Buy a Metro Card for 7 days and New York City Pass. See The Empire State and Top of the Rock at the day and by night ! Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises but only at 6 P.M. - The sunset view is amazing.
We got a very warm opening by Sophia. She was very kind and helpful for us.
I truly recommend this place and hope to come here again.
We have a really great time in New York City.
We got a very warm opening by Sophia.

I lost my camera and she was so helpful (y) i did´t get it back, but we try.
Hope to come back, for another great stay in NYC
A very nice room and a very nice lady. Lots of tips about New York from a insider. Not far from the A-train and shops aroubd the corner. To downtown in tweny minutes.
