Charming studio near rue Mouffetard
|住所||Rue du Puits de l'Ermite, 75005 Paris, フランス|
3rd floor without elevator.
The 5th arrondissement is the oldest district of Paris: it encompasses the largest part of the Quartier latin, built by the Romans during the Antiquity. It is located on the left bank, at the edge of the Seine river. During May 1968, the Quartier latin was a center of the student revolt. Nowadays, the 5th arrondissement is above all an intellectual and university area; an area of editors and booksellers as well as schools and universities.
One of the most famous monuments of Paris, the Pantheon, that honours great figures in French History, is located in this district. You can also visit the Jardin des Plantes with its numerous buildings and green spaces, visit the Natural History museum within it, then go have a mint tea at the Grande Mosquee of Paris before exploring the Arenes de Lutece.
Thanks to its mainly student population, the 5th arrondissement is one of the most lively areas of Paris. The well-known rue Mouffetard and the area around are full of restaurants and cafes, but still manage to remain authentic and keep a very pleasant spirit of “village”. Shopping lovers will not be disappointed either, since the 5th is also the district of the boulevard Saint-Michel and of a part of the boulevard Saint-Germain, where most major brands have a store.

We had a wonderful time in Paris for 4 days!
The studio was near a metro station and 15-20 minute walk from the river, in a quiet area. In a 3 minute walk there is a street with bistros and bars. The flat was warm and friendly. Clean and comfortable. The wifi was accessible. There were kitchen utensils and microwave, a boiler for hot water, a hoover , a hairdryer and an iron fo the clothes.
However, there was discoloration in a corner of the ceiling near the bathroom and inside and there was no curtain in the bathroom. No TV.
I would suggest this flat for a young couple, but not for people who would stay many hours inside the flat.
Nice mini-flat provided with everything we needed for a 4 days holiday in a couple. Very good site in the city. Clean and confortable. Very parisienne. Owner so kind. Mario
The apartment’s location is marvelous, situated in a small quiet street, a few minutes to the next Metro, a twenty minutes walk to the Boulevards ST. Michel and ST.Germain. But this exhausts the positive aspects.
The apartment is advertised as a charming studio. My husband and I had difficulties to see the charm in the mold we encountered in the bathtub corner; the discoloration in the ceiling, likely the result from a leak in the apartment above; the lack of any space on the table for two normal plates – the small existing table is taken up by a microwave oven for which there is no room in the kitchen – ; no kettle for boiling water; and most annoyingly in the digital age, the lack of reliable access to WiFi. Trying to connect to the Internet during the day was a lottery game with an approximate chance of success of less than 30% and during the evening with a zero chance. After inquiring with the owner, she offered as explanation that the apartment is in an old building (how many residential buildings in the center of Paris are new?) and yes, that there is a problem with the company providing Internet services. It seemed that she had made no efforts to resolve the problem. Whether the excellent location of the studio represents a worthwhile trade-off to these charming attributes is left to the judgement of the potential renter. For us, it did not.
Simply Loved this place, I still have dreams of the location and the space a year later. My wife and I talk about it all the time. The space is not really large but where is really large in this region of the world. There are places to eat as well as a nice strip of restaurants and markets close by. We utilize a near by supermarket almost daily (the American in us) and even stopped by Staples to get some printing done. The metro access was perfect complete with two stops in very close walking distance. The host was great and we were able to do everything via text and she was very accommodating although we missed our train to Paris. I would suggest this space to couples and single folks who want an authentic stay in Paris.
This was a darling little apartment....small, but just what we needed. Clean and equipped well with dishes, etc. The bed was comfortable, as well. We enjoyed being able to eat in the apartment a couple of times late at night or for breakfast. It has a pretty spacious bathroom for the size of the apartment, which was great for two people. Catherine was very warm and accommodating. The location was great for us.....walkable distances to most things we wanted to do, and walking in Paris is the best!
The apartment was very comfortable for 2 people; all one needs when visiting Paris and wanting to ber outside in town. Location near Metro station is ideal for getting around
Lovely hostes! Very cosy and complete studio. Car park in front. Window that can be open. Perfect shower / bath and bed.
Centre of Paris!
We stayed in Catherine's apartment for eight nights and couldn't be happier with the experience. Although it is basically one room with a seperate bathroom and small kitchenette it is definitely big enough for two people. It's in an excellent location with a supermarket around the corner and rue mouffetard nearby for delicious crepes. Catherine responded very quickly to all messages, making for an easy, stress-free stay.
The studio is really charming and clean, but the bed is medium-sized and just big enough for 2 persons. The location (next to Place Monge) in a small side-street in 5th arondissement is good. The studio is in the 3rd floor and the stairway is quite small, so for people travelling with heavy luggage it isn't really comfortable. In any other case this is no problem at all.
