Galata, also known as Pera, is a part of the Beyoglu district. The famous Galata Tower was built by the Genoese in 1348. Situated in this lively neighborhood of Beyoglu shops, cafes and restaurant are just around the corner. Istiklal Avenue and Galata Bridge are reachable within minutes. Its a very nice experince to take the nostalgic tram from the tunel to Taksim square.

Very nice and cosy room with a wonderful view!
Great service and very friendly staff!
We stayed for our one week holliday in this room. And we whould do it again.
The included breakfast in the hostel (3 min walk) gives you a good basement for the day. Ercan was realy friendly and the comunication (in english) was great.
Like the descriptions of other users are telling, the view is breathtaking. The room it self is realy charming and the rest of the flat has a simple standard in comparision to german standard. The stareway up to the fifth floor is realy special. It feels a bit like Havana 20 Years ago. After a couple of days it feels like home.
We visited Istanbul in the middle of October 2015. I can imagine that in summertime the room can be very hot.
A nice room with a wonderful view in a big apartment.
I recommend it. Thanks Ercan.
The view from the window is stunning enough that I can recommend this stay. Also the location is great and the hostel staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and even though you shouldn't expect luxury, everything is in good enough shape. More equipment for the shared kitchen would be a good idea. The stairway doesn't look good as others have stated, but it's not a real problem. Although choice for breakfast is not abundant, it's tasty (served in the hostel, which is a short distance away).
Several different rooms from this apartment can be found on wimdu. I got the 15m² one instead of the 25m² I booked, which wasn't a problem for me (in fact I didn't even realize it when I was there, so didn't ask about the reason), but confirming beforehand might be a good idea if you need the space.
Make sure you remember the entry of the house if you plan to come back late, because after the shutters are in front of the closed shops, the street looks quite different.
Clearly recommendable. Very nice people. Very friendly welcome. Always helpful. We had a proper and comfortable, large room for the family ( couple + little boy ), and with a fantastic view over the Bosporus. Was like cinema. We will come again. Thanks and very best regards, Ute, Felix and Jörg
Nice accommodation, good price and friendly stuff
The room is very basic, just a comfortable double bed and a cupboard. One has to climb a breathtaking 90 stairs to get there. The view on the Bosporus and the Old City is also breathtaking.
The shared bathrooms and kitchen are OK. The hostel staff is accurate and very friendly.
A simple, but good Turkish breakfast is served.
It is situated in a nice, lively neighbourhood.
Close by, at the foot of Galata Tower, you will find restaurant Kiva (excellent food and best coffee) and restaurant Güney (delicious aplle pie ice cream).
We enjoyed being here.
It's very close to Galata tower and you can go to Istiklal street soon, very nice location.
The view from our room was really beautiful. The room, bathroom were clean. We enjoyed our stay in there.
incredible, wonderful, fantastic view! Nice Breakfast! If you are lucky, like me, you can see Bosphorus and Golden Horn from one room.It is very clean and tidy, everything there what you need basically.
But the room is not recommendable if it is still cold and you really need a heating, there is just a little Ufo think over the bed, the windows are very antique, are not keeping the wind outside. If you book this room because you like the antique style, you will not be very satisfied with the furniture, it is just simple and cheap. If I may advice something to samane: put a kind of carpet in the bathroom, otherwise it is very uncomfortable to step out of the shower on the cold and naked floor. The area is nice and you can reach public transport and nice shopping and nightlife Area in ten minutes by feet.
