Thank you very much Kaz!
It is a very nice and calm room with good connection to the tube. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.
It was a great experience, an easy access to all places of central London. Thank you Kaz for your hospitality
Centrally located in quiet area. Apartment is clean. The other guests were quite loud and walls are thin, but ok value for the area.
Not bad, difficult to find, lot of brightness in the room and the bath doesn't work so propperly, the water is stremely hot, good situation, the hood is quiet.
The room we stayed in was nice and lookes pretty much like the pictures.
We were especially thrilled by having a nice shower in our room.
The place was also very conveniently located.
The downsides were:
The breakfast, almost no milk and the coffee was quite bad.
The floors, it felt like the entire house was wobling when you were walking around and this also meant you heard every movement in the house, both from downstairs and upstairs (we stayed in room 2, one floor up).
The noise, the windows did not drown out much of the noise coming from the backyard, and the neighbours on each side were quite noisy. One side with children playing and the other with adults seeming to eat in the backyard with lots of friends every night. We were also disturbed by the cleaningladies who came by around 10-12 and would chatter in the kitchen long after they were done.
Good room and building.
Nice place to stay in London, very near to the underground station.
the house was quite clean and the other guests were really kind.
Plus: Location of the place is very good. Close to Metro station and bus stops and there are many shops in close proximity. The room is big.
Minus: we could not stay there at our first night as the guest before us did not check out. An alternative place was provided for our first night, but we lost time during our short stay as we had to move the other day around 11 am and could not start our sightseeing as planned.
Our room was in the basement and the door towards the backyard had no lock at all!!! Anyone could have gone into our room while entering from the garden. This is really someting the owner should fix very soon. I also wrote a message several days ago but did not get any answer yet.
The promised hairdryer was not there. The bathroom is very small and we shared the appartment with seven people in total. The last two days there was no toilett paper anymore and no one checked in the meanwhile.
Plus some other guet kept us up every night as they started cooking after midnight. In summary, I would not go there again as all these points made our stay unnecessarily complicated...
I had a very bad surprise when arrived at this property. It seemed the house of horrors, uncleaned, just one towel, with stains. A property in so poor conditions, with scaffoldings and rubbish near the entrance, very different from photographs reported on the listing and the photograph of the building forwarded from the host just few days before my arrival. The flat doesn't reflect the one listed, is a cheat. Even unsafe place, I would have never slept there for free.
For all the reasons above I asked my money back, but I'm still waiting Wimdu's reply from last 26th April (almost one week ago). They did not even help me to find a similar accomodation, as no emergency number to call them was provided in the booking confirmation, so I was left alone in the dark at 00.30 in the night. Forced to call a cab at 00.30 in the night and ask to a friend to host me on her sofa. That sounds ridicolous. Not happy with this uncareness of the site as well, and I have to say, that's the first time they're not prompt, but this doesn't justify their behavior. I can't upload relevant photographs of the status of this property here, but all the material has been provided to Wimdu.
I hope they'll chase this up, as this host can't rent this flat, it is quite inappropriate. I seriously think he books and put reviews himself. It is not possible someone could leave a positive feedback on that.
I'm waiting for the refund Wimdu, so please act in this regard.
Just in case someone of you wants to go there remind Kazz to give you the code for the door! We didn't get one and couldn't get in. Gladly the neighbors at night could help us and called someone to give us the code. No one told us that there is a code needed at all. At last we could get in and the room was quite nice. The shared kitchen was also nice and clean. But the bathroom was a disaster: because of it's shared with other 3 rooms it was quite dirty and the water couldn't get out because the drain was blocked. Also the shower was beeping the whole night because of a technical disorder.
The apartment is in a well connected area of London, close to both train and underground stations within 10 minutes walking distance. When we arrived we had a very difficult time retrieving the keys from the safe-lockbox located outside the door - as it turned out, the owner had given us the incorrect combination. Although it was frustrating, we were able to get into contact with him via telephone right away. When we opened the lock box, our room keys weren't inside even though it was after 3, the designated check in time. We decided to just leave the bags and go to the center. After we returned later that evening, the keys were in the lock box and so we could enter into the room. The room was clean and was as advertised. The bed was what you'd expect from paying this price, and the pillows were flat (I recommend that you bring your own). Our individual room locked just fine, but we had issues locking the front door, most of the time we had to just leave it unlocked because the bolt was stuck. The bathroom was alright, the toilet and shower are in separate rooms, both rooms barely big enough to fit a person and the appliances. However everything functioned properly and was clean. My boyfriend was too tall for the shower, he's about 188cm - but there was always hot water even though there was an entire apartment full of people showering one right after the other. Also ladies, there are no outlets in the bathroom, so any hairstyling had to happen in the bedroom. The kitchen was modest, but included everything we needed on a basic level. We just bought our own breakfast, but the apartment had some cereals, coffee, and tea. There is only one small pot and one small pan in the kitchen. That's all the useful information I can give - it was a good place to stay on our budget, I don't have any major complaints - it was no Ritz Carlton, but you get what you pay for.
