Lovely Modern Attic Studio Room
|住所||Scherfginstrasse, 50937 Köln, ドイツ|
The space has a double bed, a large wardrobe, and a small kitchenette with a hot plate. As a welcome gift, the host provides a bottle of water and 2 Nespresso capsules. The bathroom is fitted with a luxurious rainforest shower.
With an U-Bahn (underground) stop under 5 minutes’ walk away, reaching the city centre is quick and easy. Once there, admire the Cologne Cathedral, take a cruise on the Rhine, or shop on the busiest shopping street in Europe, the Schildergasse.
The apartment is just steps from the large and natural Beethoven Park, as well as the more landscaped Klettenberg Park. Cafes and restaurants are easily within walking distance and free curbside parking is available.
A key deposit is required and is refundable on successful check-out.
Very nice apartment, with tiny kitchen corner, comfortable bed and perfect bathroom with a huge lovely shower. It's perfectly warm and quiet, you can sleep wonderfully.
Jaleh is very kind and discrete.
The apartment is a little far from the center (15 minutes from Heumarkt with line18), but the neighborhood is full of green and piece: you can walk there also in the night without any problem. I recommend it for those who want to live in the city but far from traffic and noise.
The apartment is very small, very cosy and clean. It had everything you need for one or two people stay for a few days or more. This district is not very close to the city center, but the location is very convenient - the tram number 18 goes to the center every 5 min, you can also go the zoo and Bruhl to visit Augustusburg palace - this tram goes to both of this places (different directions). Jaleh was nice and friendly. The only thing - we didn't have coffee, which was mentioned in the description. Also I would like to tell, that you have to pay more for the second person, and this information wasn't mentioned in the description. In general our trip was a little more expensive than we had planned. If you want organise a cheaper journey, then the hotel with breakfast will be cheaper then the apartment (because of the extra fees - from wimdu and for the second person).
Anyway we loved Cologne and the place was good for the first time!
The apartment is indeed lovely however the page description is extremely dishonest. I selected this property based on the price and the indication that breakfast was included. It was only after booking that the owner added a bunch of extra fees which are not listed anywhere on the page itself, including extra for a one night stay and an charges for breakfast. I was presently surprised that there was no extra charge for WiFi, although maybe that was because it frequently dropped out.
Under the 'rules' section, it indicates only that pets and smoking are inappropriate, which is no problem. It is extremely inappropriate to jack up the price after people have committed to a booking.
So, stay here if you want a nice apartment for a Köln getaway but don't care about paying some arbitrary extra amount which is not listed on the page.
This was my first time using Wimdu and perhaps this is how all properties are run, however I was extremely disappointed at the lack of transparency in pricing.
I stayed in this room for 2,5 months. If you like a quiet area but that is not too far from the center this is a great choice. Sunday afternoons you will find children playing on the calm street. With a 15mins walk you reach an area with different restaurants and supermarkets, pharmacies and shops, and even a fresh food market on Saturday mornings. 7mins walk and you reach the tram stop on line 18 (goes straight to the Dom). Usually there are trams leaving and arriving every 5-10mins during the day. To get to town you will need between 10-20mins by tram (~40-50mins walk if there are no trams, eg. veery late at night if you like a good late night out). The flat pictures matches the place, and you will have basic utensils for cooking and a small fridge and two hobs. If you need anything extra, Jaleh is always willing to help you (since my stay was longer I sometimes had to borrow her hoover and she was nice to leave it out for shared usage). The only problem I had while there was with the heating as it seems to be connected to the heating in the flat next door...once I informed Jaleh she provided me with an electric heating while she called people to fix the heating. The room is small but with a big bathroom with big shower box (great shower!). Washing machine is available downstairs (brand new as it broke down while I was there and Jaleh made sure it was replaced within 2 days), machine to dry your clothes is also there (older but does a great job at drying). All in all, the place is small but is a very nice choice of stay for Cologne. Hotels can be closer to town but you will not have the feeling of home that Jaleh's place gives you.
Really nice and modern bedroom decorated with a good taste. The bathroom is excellent with a big shower. The quarter is very calm and the house quiet and clean. Parking place in the street is sometimes not easy. If you want to cook is a bit more difficult because it miss a lot of equiment (italian coffee maker, microwave, pans, etc..) but you can ask to Jaleh, the owner, and she will provide you what you need. Good welcome.
