This place was clean and quiet, quite a find in Paris, especially for this price. If you are open to multi-cultural experiences this is a fun area of Paris with African food restaurants and tasty mangos from Senegal from the grocer across the street. Other positive points are the bathtub, the many pots and pans to cook, and the extra room with space for yoga. If you are fearful and do not feel comfortable in crowds this is not the place for you as the streets are busy, also at night. Once you are in, it is quiet! The lock on the door was not secure, but I was told it was to be changed.
The flat was perfect for three of us, staying in Paris meant we only slept there and it was clean and functional and despite being in a busy apartment block was surprisingly very quiet- the bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable!
Sandra was there to welcome us and she was very friendly making us feel welcome and showed us where to find everything.
For the price I would definitely stay here again and recommend friends to stay here- 2 minute walk from the Metro and 5 minute walk to Montmartre.
The only issue was on arrival we could not get into the building- its a big block and there are no apartment numbers and we couldn't speak French- make sure you ask Sarah before you arrive for the apartment number as we had to wait outside until a lovely French man helped us!
A perfect weekend away and a lovely stay we will be back.
What can we tell you about our stay in this apartment.
To be honest, we would not advice it to you.
If you are in two, for the money spent, you could easily stay in a hotel.
Should you be in four, okay maybe than you have a good price.
The apartment is very poorly furnished and decorated. Most of the electric plugs did not work….
And we found out there was no central heating, just a small, portable electric heating.
The heating in the bathroom did not work also.
To use the toilet you kind of have to push yourself between the washing machine (why would you need a washing machine in this apartment??) and a wooden cupboard. Not nice…..
When we arrived, there was a clotheshorse in the middle of the room, with wet sheets hanging on them. What a welcome!!!
It is on the 4th floor of an old building in the middle what my friend and I called ‘black Africa’.
We were a little bit afraid to come home late at night.
O.k., true is a few steps from the Montmartre quarter and the Sacre Coeur. Also the apartment is close to the Metro.
But the area is really filthy(dirty) and not ‘French’ at all.
Also we were not very happy about the contact with our host Sarah. After we booked we sent a mail asking if the linen and towels were included. No reply…. Then about a week before arriving we sent another mail, to make an appointment on how to get the key. No reply….
We had to write to Wimdu, in order to get a reaction of our host. And only after that she replied.
Was there than nothing nice? Yes, there was. We were received in the apartment by Sandra who was very kind with us. She explained a bit and answered any question we had. She did not ask us the caution as she said she trusted us. But secretly we felt, she just did not want to come back Monday morning to give it back to us.
Another positive thing is that the apartment was very, very quiet. No noise what so ever!
So, we slept well.
However, the two of us did have a very good time in Paris.
Paris is Paris and wonderful as ever!
Should you book this apartment, just sleep there and go out and enjoy the city!!!
We had a great Trip to Paris. The Apartment was like it is seen on the pictures. It isn't luxury but there is everything you need. The Toilet is really close to the washingmashine, so you have to be skinny to go there. The metro is just a 5 minutes walk away and you can walk to the Montmartre in about 20 minutes. Which is really great!
It's quite in the apartment and you feel save there because of two closed doors with codes to go through. It was quite clean. Only some dishes and some cooking pots weren't clean, but that's the fault of the visitors before us. There is an electric heating which is totaly adequate for the size of this apartment.
I would totaly go there again. It was nice and everything worked just fine. But i think this area isn't good for kids or for a girltrip. I just felt save because i was there with 3 male friends. On Day it's okay but in the night i wouldn't go out alone.
Very nice Appartement near to Sacre Coer... just 10 min by feed. Kitchen serves everything for cooking everything. Huge rooms and comfortable bed.
Previous tenants did not leave when we arrived... But this was not fault of Sarah/Sandra, who wellcomed us in a very nice way.
We found appartement without problems. Also entering with the door-codes wasn't a problem at all. Everything clean.
We would return everytime!
The hosts have succeeded in creating a cosy feeling by choosing a warm decent colour for the walls, putting up wooden furniture, and removing paint from doorframes and plank floor, we went in and felt at home, the photos are true.
You will be in the fourth floor overlooking a spacy backyard and see the sky, it's pretty light in there.
For the third person tested the sofa in the living room we can tell: bed's are really comfortable and not too soft, we slept very well.
Being there at the beginning of december with outside temparatures around 1°C in the night we had been curious about heating, but the small heating device in the living room did the job well, for all of the flat.
Setbacks had been the heating did not work in the bathroom, so it's a bit colder there, but not severely (device had 1 knob being removed) and hosts did choose a washing machine with a width of 60cm, witch makes you sit cramped on the toilet being cooled down from leg to shoulder, better be a lean person. A 45cm toploader at the opposite wall would have been the better choice.
The neighborhood is dominant african/arabic and represents those in paris with the small income. Streets are someplace littered with waste, but he next morning have been cleaned, and after all: Is St.Germain's streets really Paris? But you can feel safe because at the entrance there are two heavy doors with double keypad access.
Up the road is an arabic diner where you get couscous late at night or lefthand down a turkish one. Righthand down Rue Leon is a local french restaurant where you can dine for a very decent price compared to Paris standards.
Three blocks uphill at the corner of Rue de Clingnancourt/Rue Muller there is a local small french cafe with no tourists in it and a good coffee/croissant, a bakery besides offering pretty good 'traditionel' /baguette.
Down that road RdC righthandside there is a cool bar to get the days last drink.
The hosts have been very easy and cooperative in setting up appointment for key handover.
After mastering paris traffic chaos during the day, surprisingly in this area nearby we've found a parking space every night .
So that's what is about this place - it's affordable, you may start the day in the small cafe, and when coming home late at night after exploring the shiny parts of Paris, you sleep well.
We enjoyed staying in the appartment. It s a nice , payable place to relax and then do your things in Paris, I might do it again once...
The apartment is really lovely, although kitchen was fairly small (as was the bath!), but a perfect size for the two of us. In a nice, lively area close to the centre and with easy access to all the main monuments and sights, especially the Sacre-Coeur which is a 5-10 minute walk away(!) Sarah was really helpful both before and after arrival and would definitely recommend this apartment.
