An excellent host. Very helpful. Accommodation clean & comfortable.
Nice and simple little room. Possibility of using the kitchen.
(Renovation works where ongoing during our stay)
Splendid located in near proximity of: Liverpool Street (Tube)
We have stayed in the appartment for a weekend, which was great.
The location was great, walking distance to liverpoolstreet and to shoreditch. Lots of restaurants, pubs, shops, markets etc.
The room was a bit small, there is a bed, a mirror, a closet and a fridge. But that was fine. The room was a bit noisy but it wasn't bothering us at all. There is a shared kitchen with almost everything in it, oven, fridge, rice cooker, and the possibility to cook yourself which is great. In the shared bathroom there is a bath/shower, toilet and sink. The toilet doesn't flush most of the time and there is a bit mold.
It didnt bother us at all to share the bathroom/kitchen, because most of the time you dont want to use it all at the same time.
conclusion, we liked it.
Your money pays for the location, which really can't be beat. If that's your priority, staying here is a good option.
With that said, don't expect to sleep much (the walls are paper thin, and not only those separating you from your neighbor-- you can hear someone turn on the water faucet in the bathroom all the way down the hall as if it were happening in your room). This is obviously something that is not the owner's fault, but it is something to keep in mind in thinking about your options.
Also: the toilet does not flush. Notified the owner immediately, was told that the toilet hasn't flushed in 7 years. Said he fixed it, but all he did was put a sign over the toilet telling guests to put their tissue in the wastebasket. Luckily the situation didn't get too gross, but still... replacing the toilet would be appreciated :)
In sum: I would return to Marcos' hospitality the next time I was in London if I was still on a budget, wanted to be in a great location, and the toilet was permanently fixed or replaced.
Good size room, great value for money. Free wifi is excellent.
A really great location, so close to Liverpool Street Station and I always felt safe coming back by myself at night. I would recommend this to friends!
Good location, clean room.
Great stay as ever. Good value for money, will stay again.
The room was not as big as in the picture, the bathroom was a bit dirty. The bed was too close to the window and probably this is the reason why we felt so cold during the night. That being said the place is more than accetable for only one night.
Even though the bedroom is very small, smaller than what we had thought, it's a pretty nice room with a little table, a small fridge, a wardrobe, a chair and an iron.
Best thing about it was its location since its very near Liverpool Street Station and in a very lively neighbourhood surrounded by pubs, bars and supermarkets.Worst thing about it was that there wasn't an elevator and since it's on the second or third floor it was pretty difficult to arrive there with all the luggage.
It might not look very glamurous fr toom the outside but there's always someone willing to help and we met a south american woman, who I think worked as a cleaner, that was very nice and helped my friend and I by translating some things that we weren't very sure of what to say in English.
We didn't meet Marcos until he came up one day to show the place to some other guests but I have no complaints about the bedroom or our host. It's not the most fashionable of places but you get what you pay for. We would rent it again if we were to return to London.
