Prime location - Bairro Alto 1B
|住所||Travessa dos Inglesinhos, 1200 Lisbon, ポルトガル|
This is a modern and cozy apartment, full of character and light, set on the first floor (Drto) of an ancient typical Lisbon building in the trendy and vibrant Bairro Alto, known as one of the most attractive and picturesque areas of the Lisbon’s city center. This apartment is part of a group of 7 apartments that we have in this building.
The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed, and a double sofa bed in the living room, a nice bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, ready to cook home made meals. Towels and linens at your disposal are included in the price and satelite Tv and wireless internet as well.
To set forth on a discovery of Lisbon, there is no better place to begin: the tram a few steps away, international brand shops at Chiado and the more daring fashions in Bairro Alto, where you also have the trendiest restaurants of Lisbon. Bica neighbourhood, close by, is becoming a night haven for artists and intellectuals. But this does not destroy the calm and charm of Rua das Chagas. For theatre and opera lovers there are three theatre houses at a five minute distance, S. Carlos, S. Luiz and Trindade Theatres.
Chiado is where Lisbon's history and urbanity meet. This tourist area of the capital begins at the Brasileira café, on Rua Garrett. Opened in 1905. It´s one of Lisbon's postcards. On the side walk café you will find the different urban tribes and a statue of poet Fernando Pessoa, who offers his lap for tourist photos.
Next to it, two churches remind the vanished towers of Santa Catarina Gate. The Church of Loreto, built in 1528 by Italians living in Lisbon, was partially destroyed by the 1755 earthquake, but later rebuilt and one of the places to visit on Chiado. The Church of Encarnação, inaugurated in 1708, was also hit in 1755 and rebuilt later. But Chiado has more than just two churches to see.
Luís de Camões square, which any Lisboner will call Largo Camões, is not just a passing place. Sit on the steps of the poet's monument and enjoy the bustle that Chiado has.
But do not leave Chiado without inquiring about the theatres. São Luiz Municipal Theatre was one of Lisbon's first cinemas. Today it is a municipal theatre with a rich and varied programming. Also glimpse the Teatro Trindade and the S. Carlos Opera House.
This is one of the city´s best shopping areas. You will find international brand shops (Hermès and Hugo Boss, for example) and great Portuguese designers like José António Tenente (Tv. Carmo, 8) StoryTailors (Cç. Do Ferragial, 8) or Atelier Alves/Gonçalves (Tv. Guilherme Cossul, 16).
It is not difficult to come across public figures, mainly artists. There are several art schools in the area, like the Fine Arts Faculty. Even if you are not an expert, venture into the Chiado Museum - National Museum of Contemporary Art (Rua Serpa Pinto, 4) besides well-cared exhibitions, it has a pleasant patio to have lunch or simply sip a coffee. There is also a big offer for meals: Café Royale, New Wok and Kaffee Hause are excellent choices.
Walk the streets with care, the movement on the sidewalks is always heavy and the trams are constantly passing.

We had a great time in a very nice, clean and renovated apartment in a lively neighborhood. Everything we needed was in the apartment and we had good communication with Margarida. The only minor thing: the noise of the street at night. So if you are not used to that, make sure to have some earplugs with you.
We had a wonderful time in this little appartement in Lisboa! Everything was clean and cozy! The appartement is directly in the Barrio Alto so we could do everything by foot. We also cooked two times in the kitchen and had super nice evenings in the appartement with the two little "balconys"! We can definitely recommend this place!

The Apartment is prefectly located, clean and has everything you Need. Filipe and his Team Are very friendly and helpfull. He also allowed us to Check out two Hours later, which was very kind. I highly recommend the Stay there.
We spent some days in the studio and really enjoyed the nice view of the kitchen-window. It is no worth cooking in the apartment as going out for lunch is really cheap and the kitchen is just equipped to prepare a quick sandwich or pasta, not a hole meal. Clean bathroom and rooms, only the bed is, in my opinion, very uncomfortable and not like written "getting out of the bed will be difficult" in a positive sense. Communication with the host was very easy, friendly and cooperative!!
For the last days we had to move to another apartment as they started with some demolition works next door. But this may occur at any place and WIMDU really did a good job to solve this problem. Thanks a lot for this!
We felt like beeing at home with our two children (14, 15) in Graca flat. It was nice, clean, all functioning kitchen and bathroom, good view from 4.th floor and little balcony with river view in large distant but real lisboa atmosphere, we can recommend it to other familys, also for 6 persons. Internet was little bit slow and in tv there were some english channels. The communication with housekeeper was great!! We would come again!
Nice apartment and very friendly and helpful hosts. Only we were missing a wardrobe or some shelfs to store our cloths. The area was perfect to start exploring Lisbon. At night a bit loud.
nice location, everything was fine. thanks to some frensh party people was noisy that days. bathroom is very small and on suite!! was clean but somehow very used. maybe you like to bring your own pillow.
It is a spacious, clean and well located (short walk to Bairro Alto, Viewpoint, Rossio, etc.) ikea flat. Marisa estimated our arrival time pretty right, so the check-in went smoothly and on top we got a lot of good advice what to do, see and how to get around! :) If you plan on cooking in the flat you might bring your own salt and pepper from home, if you don't want to buy it. All the kitchen supplies are available but there is nothing like salt, tea or coffee.
The bed is comfortable. Not sure about the couch, if you are more than tweo people, but it will work for a few days I guess. If you have a light sleep you better bring earplugs (it's a quiet neighbourhood and not loud at all, but if there's noise outside you can hear it).
I can definitely recommend the flat as homebase for a short trip to Lisbon and the Short Stay Flat team and service is wonderful! :)
